The biological indicator consists of two tubes, A and B.
Tube A contains Bacillus atrophaeus spore populations soaked in a paper strip attached to the lid.
Auxiliary plastic tube B protects the glass vial containing the blue culture medium.
IMPORTANT: Sterilize only with dry heat (oven/chamber).
ATTENTION! Do not sterilize tub B, containing the blue culture medium
Product Description
The biological indicator is designed for monitoring dry heat sterilization processes at 160, 180°C.
If the sterilization process was unsuccessful, the indicator press (blue culture medium) will change from blue to yellow after incubation at 37 ± 2 °C, thus indicating the presence of live Bacillus atrophaeus spores. If the sterilization process was successful the indicator color will remain blue after incubation. The final reading should be taken after 48 hours of incubation at 37 ± 2 °C.
