Biological indicator inoculated with 106 viable bacterial spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus and is intended for monitoring the effectiveness of vaporized hydrogen peroxide from sterilization processes. The biological indicator has a Super Fast reading of 20 minutes at 60 °C.
The biological indicator consists of a tube with a plastic cap with holes and a permeable steam barrier. Each tube contains a 10 ⁶UFC spore population of Geobacillus stearothermophilus ATCC 7953 soaked on a paper strip (spore carrier) and a purple culture medium in a glass container, which sits on a filter at the bottom of the tube
The biological indicator shows on a label with QR code on the lid containing information related to the type of sterilization, date, incubation time, batch number, expiry date, operator, etc. so that a system of traceability of the necessary information for incubation and avoid incubation errors can be established in an automated way.

The final negative reading is available 20 minutes after the start of incubation. Fluorescence is a direct measure in the germination and growth of Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores that have survived the sterilization process (positive result). Furthermore, a failure in the sterilization process may also become evident by the change in colour of the culture medium.
Optionally, an additional visual conventional reading can be done after incubation for 48 hours at 60 C.If all spores have been destroyed, the color will remain unchanged - purple. Otherwise, the color will change to yellow. It has an external indicator to confirm the processing of the vial in the corresponding sterilization process.
