Product name: Biological indicator for dry heat sterilization
Organism: Bacillus atrophaeus ATCC9372
Use the indicator to monitor dry heat sterilization cycles at 160-200°C. It consists of a spore strip (glass vial) and a bottle of culture medium. Sterilize the spore strip vial only.

Instructions for use:
1. Place the indicator in a standard test packet and place the packet in the most difficult area for sterilization.
2. Place the package in the most difficult area for sterilization. This is usually on the bottom shelf near the door.
3. Process the load according to recommended practices.
4. Removing the indicator after the cycle is complete
5. After the cycle is complete, fully open the sterilizer door for at least 10 minutes before removing the indicator. Allow to cool for a further 10 minutes before crushing.
6. Under sterile conditions or laminar flow medium, break the glass vial at the blue point of the vial, remove the spore strip, then open the cap of the culture medium bottle, place the spore strip in the culture medium for incubation.
7. Cap tightly and incubate at 36±1°C.
8. Use an unsterilized biological indicator with the same batch number each time a processed indicator is incubated.
The aim of positive control is to ensure
1) Proper incubation condition
2) Indicator activity (indicator activity may be carried out under inappropriate storage conditions)
3) The incubator is still in good working order.
9. Biological indicators examine for early detection of positive results at a convenient time interval such as 8, 12, 24 hours. The yellow color in the processed indicator demonstrates bacterial growth and a failed sterilization process, no color change (medium remains green) indicates a proper sterilization process.
10. Act immediately on any positive biological indicator results, always retest the sterilizer, and do not use the sterilizer to process loads until the biological indicator results are negative.
